Create an account on the web portal, upload your documents, and submit. This application is free.

Your initial application should process within 30 days.

After the application is approved, you’ll request a visa from your local embassy or consulate within six months. This is valid for entry to Italy for two years. Within eight days of entering Italy, you’ll go in person to the police station of the city where you plan to live and apply for your residence permit—expect some small fees and nominal paperwork. You then have three months to make the investment.
