The Startup Visa prepares you to start your business, with help from a mentor. After 1 year, you can apply for a self-employed work permit, which offers a path to Permanent Residence.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Australian, Canadian, Japanese, New Zealand, American, and South Korean citizens can apply directly here.

Other applicants apply with facilitator’s help.

In either case, applicant will need to appear in person at immigration office in the Netherlands (sometimes abroad) to give fingerprints and have a photo taken.

This visa takes 3 months to process.

  • Application form
  • A step-by-step business plan explaining applicant’s role in the start-up, activities to start the business in the first year, and why the business is innovative
  • Signed contract with authorized facilitator
  • Evidence of financial support
  • Biometrics, photo, and signature of applicant
  • Antecedents appendix certificate
  • Evidence of TB test, if required

Other documents may be required. Documents should be certified and submitted in English, Dutch, French, or German.
