$31,330 per year income (plus $7,982 per year per dependent). Different embassies and consulates can have different rules. Depending on where you apply, you may need the full $31,330 in passive income, or you may only need some passive income and some remote income. You may also be asked to deposit the entire $31,330 when you apply.
Application fees vary based on citizenship, and generally range from $73 to $839.
Apply in person with your documents at the Spanish embassy or consulate in your home country (list available here.) It usually processes within 3 months.
Documents may need to be apostilled or translated into Spanish, and usually include:
- Completed application forms and proof of payment (from consulate)
- Valid passport
- Clear criminal records check
- Medical certificate (less than three months old)
- Passport photo
- Proof of $31,330 income or funds
- Most recent tax return
- Birth Certificate or Marriage Certificate for family members (if required)
Other documents may be required.
