Czech Republic: Živnostenský Visa
Permanent Remote Work Visa
Freelance and self-employed workers can move to the Czech Republic (and work for clients
there) with the Živnostenský Visa.

Finland: Entrepreneur Permit

The applicant needs the professional qualifications and funds to set up and run their
business. Approval is more likely if the business has German clients, and this visa
doesn't suit remote employees of a company outside of Germany. Applicants who are older
than 45 years old also need funds or a plan for their retirement.

Netherlands: Dutch-American Friendship Treaty
2 Year Remote Work Visa
The Dutch-American Friendship Treaty allows Americans to move to the Netherlands, with the
right to work for clients there.
Benefits
Path to Permanent Residence
$5,440 bank balance (deposited in the Netherlands) and a freelance business to support
yourself. Only American citizens qualify for this visa.
This visa has a $1,562 fee. Apply in the Netherlands with the Immigration and
Naturalisation Service (IND). This complicated process takes ~3 months, but you are
allowed to work as a freelancer once you begin the application.
Malaysia: My Second Home (MM2H)
10 Year Remote Work Visa
The Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) visa lets remote workers and their family move to
Malaysia. (This program is paused due to COVID-19).
Benefits
Renewable after 10 years (not a path to Permanent Residence)
If under 50: $2,440/m income, $122,026 bank balance upon application (upon acceptance,
deposit $73,216 in Malaysia and maintain a fixed deposit of $36,608 after the 2nd year).
If over 50: $2,440/m income, $85,418 bank balance upon application (upon acceptance,
deposit $37,608 in Malaysia and maintain a fixed deposit of $24,405 after the 2nd year).
